The movies are very large so you need to be on a fast connection.

The latest vids are in H.264 format (.mp4) so you need a player that will play this format.
I suggest QuickTime but there is other players too.
Download QuickTime Here (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/)

To download a movie instead of watching it online do one of the following.

If the movie is mpeg-1 format (.mpg),
Or for iPod movies (.m4v),
• In IE right mouse click on the video link and choose "Save target as"

• In FireFox right mouse click on the video link and choose "Save link as"

• In Safari Control click on the video link and choose "Download linked file"

If the movie is in H.264 format (.mp4),
Stating with movies released in October and after we will are adding a link directly to the movie file to make it easier to download movies. For movies released before October after the movie finishes loading click on the small downward facing triangle on the right hand side of the controller and choose "Save As Source"

See these screen shots,

Is it just me or does it happen to everyone?
Every time i try to fast forward to the good parts, quicktime freezes up. Never had this problem with mediaplayer.

Is this with the newer mp4 vids or the older mpg vids?

Also how much of the vid is downloaded when you try to fast forward? You can only fast forward to the point where the vid has already downloaded to.

There are other players besides quicktime that will play mp4 movies.
Here is a list of some of them. I haven't actually used any of them.

There are also a bunch more listed over here.

Also here is a plugin for WMP that claims to allow WMP to play H.264 vids

i've downloaded the whole movie to computer and then play them. tried to download other viewers and it tells me that it wont play this file.
also i never had a problem with media player going full screen, or adjusting the light or sound but can't with quicktime and was wondering if all the new videos are going to be quicktime?
i appreciate all the input, but as i see after i posted this that all the vids will be this format.
i have truly enjoyed this site and it's content but don't want to have to deal with the hassle of qt, so if this is the new format for sure, i'd appreciate the notice so i can cancel my membership before it comes due.
Thanks for your help.

The movies are not in QuickTime format they are in H.264 format (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.264) which is an open standard format. White paper on H.264 (http://www.vcodex.com/files/H.264%20overview.pdf).

Some asked for wmv format movies so starting with the latest update an additional download choice of medium size Windows Media Video has been added.

I've also made it easier to download her movies and now just a single click will start the movie download.

If you would like to see anything else added post it in this thread.

hi to all. i have the same issue problem of slavepress. For mp4 giant movie. i usa a mac from 10 years and this is the only one situation with this strange problem. But, i see, that if i convert this file.mp4 with the last handbrake for example, in other mp4 high def format, after, i have the same video size and file size and...now its ok! i can move forward or rewind to any part othe movie without freeze or blocks...any problems...
Just for your knowledge.

MP4 gets its smaller file size at a better quality by using more complex compression routines so older less powerful processors have a had time dealing with it but as you discovered they can be converted into other formats.

You have a choice of steaming in Flash or Quicktime and also have the option of downloading them in mp4 in all sizes plus wmv in medium size.

I think the steaming in Flash will work in Win98 and I'm certain that the downloadable wmv will play in Win98.

Here is a page that you can test if your machine can play the steaming Flash movies (http://foxyangel.com/flashtest/).

I didn't see this until I checked it in Windows IE.

I've made some changes that should fix this issue.

Let me know if you are still seeing any issues.

What page is distorted horizontally?

The page that lists the updates or the actually updates?

I did find a coding error that caused issues in IE on the page that lists the updates and fixed that. Be sure to refresh that page so that you get the new style sheet.
